About the space

Long Space is a cool shopfront arts studio/gallery space opposite Newport train station. We have there artists in residence in the space, so you would be sharing the main space with them. There is a long/wide hallway which may also be considered in the shop usage - to be discussed. I have specified 30sqm, but more wallspace could be used in negotiation with the artists.

The space has loads of natural beautiful light and chains hang from the ceiling to display any hanging works.

Inspections

Opening and closing hours is actually up to you. I have put 9-5 as it is a requirement of the website, however, you do not need to operate in those times. Please contact us directly for inspection times as we are flexible, casual workers.

Most things that you feel you need for your store. Please contact us - we may have some things available already for you.

What can be done with the space

Basic things. We have set it up as a gallery space and still wish to operate as a gallery, so walls can only be painted if they are returned to white after the rental finished. You can do most things to the space allocated as long as it is returned by you to the original state at the end of the lease. As mentioned, artists share the back space occasionally, so music may be played if at a relatively quiet level.

Licenses and Approvals

We can work with you to help secure an alcohol licence and an APRA licence if you need it.

Payment includes utilities and rent.
