In 1961 one of the founding partners of the now global pizza brand Domino’s Pizza decided to sell his 50% stake in the company for a used Volkswagen Beetle. 38 years later the remaining partner sold his share for 1 billion dollars, ouch!

FedEx is one of the worlds largest delivery companies but in 1971 just 4 years into operation the company was on its last legs. Down to its last $5,000 the company founder took a gamble and turned the remaining $5,000 into $32,000 in a weekend in Las Vegas. The funds were enough to keep the company’s few planes in the sky. Today FedEx is worth an estimated 35 billion. Not a bad gamble!
Lamborghini Sports Cars exist because of an argument with Enzo Ferrari
Lamborghini was in the mid 1950s an Italian tractor company. The owner discovered that his beloved Ferrari sports car kept breaking and had a number of matching engine parts found in his tractors. When he approached the famous Ferrari owner Enzo Ferrari his disappointments were dismissed and the Ferrari founder shout what do you know your just a tractor maker, the rest is history.
Coca-Cola wouldn’t have existed without American Prohibition
Coca-Cola was originally developed as a drink to ward off the cravings of its morphine addicted founder, which he called French Wine Coca, a nerve tonic. When Atlanta passed prohibition legislation in 1886, Pemberton had to redo the formula, basically to make a non-alcoholic version of his tonic. He named the drink Coca-Cola, the rest is History.
